Who we are

Our Commander

Our Commander

Maj. Heidmann graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1992 and served in the military for the next 20 years. His military career highlights include Chief of Intelligence for the 23rd Fighter Squadron, serving as Commandant of Cadets at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Air Force ROTC Detachment 157 in Daytona Beach, Florida, leading a multi-national team in a combat zone, leading the Pentagon’s Air Force Intelligence analysis cell on terrorism and coordinating counter road-side bombs efforts in Iraq.

Needless to say, he comes to our squadron with a plethora of invaluable military experience and we are blessed to have him as our commander. He joined CAP with his son and is supporting our squadron with the vast experience he attained in the military and into his current civilian career.

Maj. Heidmann welcomes all potential members to join us to explore the opportunities within the Civil Air Patrol’s missions: Serving Communities, Saving Lives and Shaping Futures.

Meetings are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. Please email Maj. Barbara Abrams for detailed directions to our location.
